Math Fact Flip Books!

I can't stand math fact cards that go home and only half come back for practicing or I find them all over our classroom floor.  I'm so excited to be using math facts flip books!

Just one book to hold on to for each set of facts!

After printing two sided, students line up the first three pages.

They then fold the top towards their desks and line up the bottom facts.  It may take a little finagling to get it to line up how you want it.  This is the point where if students are having a hard time, they raise their hand and a friend comes to help.  Some students are really good at this step, others...not so much.  Go slow and have patience the first time through.  The second time making these books went so much smoother!  Once they see the big picture, then it's easier for students to recreate!

Students can cut along the dotted line starting at the fold.

Next, tap papers on desk with the fold down.  This is a very important step.  It ensures all pages are together when they staple.

Place the first half on top of the second half.

Staple!
Viola!  The book is complete!

Now is the fun part!  The students get to color in their ten frames.  The first addend is one color and the second addend is a different color.  If students leave the unknown box blank, then the book can be used in place of flash cards!

At the beginning of the year, I had my aide make the flip books.  It's a little difficult for 5-6 year olds to assemble at first.  We have had a blast making these flip books!  If you want to check them out you can visit my TpT store here!
I didn't want to leave kindergarten out!  Click here for a smaller bundle just for them!
Thanks for stopping by!  It is a joy to have you visit!  Have a fantastic day!
